Coach Bobby Ogola echoed the move stating that Kahata brings a huge experience to the Police team. The player had a stunning career at K’ogalo having joined them in 2015. He won 5 league titles with them as well as 3 super cups. He played a major role at Gor Mahia by scoring a crucial goal against South African Supersport united to book a place at the group stage in the 2018 CAF Confederations Cup.
Apart from Sidama, Kahata has also played for Simba SC of Tanzania, Thika United and Albanian KF Tirana where he joined on a 6 month loan from Thika. While at Tirana, he helped them avoid relegation in the Albanian Superliga.
Other signings that have been brought in to boost the Police squad are David Owino from KCB, Kariobangi Sharks Skipper Erick Juma, Geoffrey Shiveka and Mathare’s Job Ochieng’. This fresh blood boosts last transfer signings the Kenya Police had of John Mark Makwata (now on loan to AFC Leopards), Duke Obuya, Clifton Miheso, Musa Mohammed and Duncan Otieno.
Many teams in the premier league have kept a low profile on this transfer period as a lot of teams are undergoing financial crisis at the moment. The transfer window opened on Jan 9th and closes on Feb 7th.
Currently Kenya Police FC lies at position 9 in the 2021/2022 Kenya Premier League having played 16 matches with 21 points. They have scored 23 goals against 18 goals this season and are trailing the league leaders Kakamega Homeboys with 12 points.
