FKF Referees Training Opportunities in Nakuru

Football Kenya federation today 29th august 2021 officially closed a five-day referees' course that was organized under Nakuru county branch in Molo sub-county.

Referees Training

The course which was led by FIFA referees instructor Edward Lumbugu, attracted a total of 55 participants from Kuresoi south, Kuresoi north, Njoro and Molo sub-counties.

The above participants were certified as qualified referees and are now ready for the big task ahead of them which is implementation of laws of the game in various venues.  The participants lauded fkf under the leadership of Nick Mwendwa for devolving all football activities up to sub-county level.

Addressing our news desk, FKF Nakuru county branch chairman Francis Oliele revealed that the area has been facing huge shortage of referees to officiate county and sub-county league matches. Oliele termed the course as timely and very important considering that now all the eleven Nakuru county sub-counties have very competitive FKF leagues. The county boss further stated that this is the fourth referees training in a span of one year. He uplouded fkf leadership under Nick Mwendwa for good programs on capacity building.

On his part, county referees boss Mr peter Nderitu who also doubles as the FKF Nakuru county treasure, was grateful to Nick Mwendwa led office for rolling such programs to grass root level. When interviewed by our news reporter, FKF Nakuru county branch secretary Edmond Omungi was optimistic that this will reduce cases of match officials shortage that have been witnessed especially on Molo, Kuresoi and Njoro sub-counties.
